Die Werkself are moving close to signing the USA international.

Bayer Leverkusen have reached an agreement with Malik Tillman, according to Kicker’s latest report.

The planned transfer is tied to a €35million release clause, which the Bundesliga club would activate.

Tillman’s club PSV Eindhoven claim that the clause only applies to FC Bayern, although this could be up for debate.

The speculation is that the clause could be interpreted in different ways with previous examples proving handy.

Ex-PSV man Xavi Simons’ transfer to RB Leipzig was similar given the Dutch player was still owned by Paris Saint-Germain at the time.

Dutch source ‘Voetbal International’ claimed “PSV management distorted reality very flexibly on several occasions” during the deal.
