Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed the signing of Axel Tape, who joins the club on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.

17-year-old centre-back Axel Tape has joined Bayer Leverkusen from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

The French U18 international, whose contract with PSG expires this summer, has signed a long-term deal with Die Werkself.

Bayer 04’s sporting managing director Simon Rolfes described the youngster as “a versatile defender and talented footballer with pace, athleticism, and strong football intelligence.”

“We see great potential in Axel,” Rolfes added.

Tape made three appearances for PSG’s senior side during the past season.
