Bayer Leverkusen vs. Gladbach preview: Die Werkself out to extend winning run

Bayer Leverkusen will look to claim an eighth consecutive league victory when they play host to Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday.

After winning their final five league games of 2024, Leverkusen have picked up from where they left off, starting the calendar year with back-to-back victories. The result also extended their unbeaten run to 15 top-flight matches, meaning they have gone over four months since they suffered their only league defeat of the season against RB Leipzig. In fact, Leverkusen have avoided defeat in each of their last 10 meetings with Gladbach (W8, D2), although they have drawn their last two head-to-head home matches.

Gladbach head into the weekend in 11th position after winning seven, drawing three and losing seven of their 17 league matches this season. However, they are still waiting to add to their points tally after losing their opening two games of 2025. Gladbach began the year with a narrow 1-0 home defeat against Bayern Munich, before they fell to a heavy 5-1 loss in Tuesday’s away meeting with Wolfsburg.
