Bayern München appear to have stepped up their interest in FC Köln’s Jonas Urbig, who has been linked with them for some time.
According to Sky Germany, the Bavarians have agreed personal terms with the 21-year-old and are now in negotiations with FC Köln.
Bayern are reportedly keen to sign Urbig this month to provide cover in the goalkeeping department, with Daniel Peretz expected to be sidelined for weeks with kidney problems.
The German media outlet claims that Köln have rejected a first offer from Bayern and that a second one is being prepared, with a fee of around €8 million on the table.
Reports have previously suggested that Bayern view the Germany Under-21 international as a potential successor to Manuel Neuer.
The 38-year-old is looking close to signing a one-year extension until 2026, at which point he could retire.
Urbig is contracted to FC Köln until 2026.
