After Leroy Sané’s move to Galatasaray, Max Eberl is targeting an “outstanding player” to bolster Bayern’s attack.

Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl has confirmed that the club want to bring in a top-class player to strengthen their attack.

This need has become more urgent following Leroy Sané’s departure to Galatasaray on a free transfer.

“We already have extraordinary players: Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala, Harry Kane, Joshua Kimmich and so on. Now we’re trying to find another outstanding player who will be successful with us,” Eberl told reporters at Bayern’s training camp in Orlando ahead of the Club World Cup.

Bayern initially pursued Florian Wirtz, but lost out to Liverpool, who look set to wrap up a deal for the Bayer Leverkusen star.

“If I’m honest, I don’t know if we could have paid what Liverpool are apparently paying now,” admitted Eberl.

“Florian Wirtz is an outstanding player. We could have imagined signing him. But when a door closes, another opens.”

Athletic Club star Nico Williams is now said to be their top priority, but Eberl was tight-lipped on those reports.

“There are so many names…” he said.
