Bayern’s boss remarked that they can sign whoever they please, but will only do so if it is economically savvy for the club.

Bayern Munich’s failed bids to sign Nick Woltemade and Florian Wirtz this summer garnered a lot of criticism for the club.
Both players were eventually drawn to the Premier League, which is far ahead of the Bavarians in terms of television revenue.
Nevertheless, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen doesn’t believe that Bayern will have to hold back on future transfers as a result.
“We can afford any transfer we want. We have an excellent capital ratio, and FC Bayern is doing very well financially.
“But we want to be able to pay a player – without having to run to the bank. That’s not in FC Bayern’s DNA,” he told Welt am Sonntag.
Dreesen went on to discuss in detail the financial breakdown of Europe’s biggest teams in terms of annual spending power.
“The bottom [placed] team in the English league, at €125 million, earns €60 million more in media revenue than us.
“Liverpool has €200million, Barcelona and Real Madrid each have €160million,” the 58-year-old explained with a wry smile.
Clearly, Dreesen is not deterred by the growing financial gulf between the German record champions and the other European elites.
