Malik Tillman has reflected on his move from Bayern Munich to PSV on a permanent basis, saying the Bavarians didn’t want him anymore.

After coming through the youth ranks at Bayern Munich, Malik Tillman never managed to make a first team breakthrough at the Bundesliga giants.

He went out on loan, first to Rangers and later to PSV, who signed him on a permanent basis for a reported €12 million.

Speaking at a press conference at the United States national team camp, the 22-year-old reflected on his move away from Bayern.

“The whole thing was up to Bayern, and they basically didn’t want me anymore,” said Tillman, according to Pro Soccer Wire.

“PSV had the right to buy me. They were the first option, and so I didn’t really have a chance to say anything.

“I’m still happy at PSV. I also wanted to stay at PSV, so it’s a good thing,” he added.

The attacking midfielder made just seven appearances for Bayern’s first team, scoring once.

So far, he has featured 50 times for PSV with 13 goals and 17 assists to his name.
