The Bavarians are unlikely to sign the Leipzig star, but they could move for one of the Saxon club’s former assets.

Bayern Munich have made concrete enquiries for Xavi Simons in recent days – but a deal is very unlikely to happen for several reasons.

First and foremost, Sky Germany is aware that Simons currently remains fully focused on a move to Chelsea.

A verbal agreement with the Londoners is already in place. All that’s missing is an agreement between the two clubs.

A potential departure of Christopher Nkunku (talks ongoing with FC Bayern) could be crucial for Chelsea’s next steps regarding Xavi.

Meanwhile, a permanent transfer of Carney Chukwuemeka to Borussia Dortmund could further boost the Leipzig star’s move to England.

The Blues urgently need to free up funds in order to present a suitable offer to the Saxon club for the 22-year-old.
