Vincent Kompany has reportedly reached out personally to a player from his former club Burnley, as Bayern Munich consider replacing Kim Min-jae.

Speculation over Kim Min-jae’s Bayern Munich future continues to swirl following a disappointing, injury-riddled season at Säbener Straße.

The 28-year-old centre-back is currently sidelined indefinitely with persistent Achilles tendon problems and is expected to miss the Club World Cup.

Meanwhile, the South Korean international is being linked with a move away from Bayern, with L’Équipe reporting that he has been identified as a target by Paris Saint-Germain.

Kim has also been linked with a move to the Premier League, and a transfer fee in the region of €30-35 million has been mentioned.

The French outlet also claims that Burnley defender Maxime Estève is being considered as a potential replacement.

According to the report, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany has personally reached out to his former player to inquire about his situation.

Everton and Crystal Palace are also reportedly monitoring Estève, who is under contract with Burnley until 2029.
