Bayern Munich chief loses his cool with reporter as he responds to criticism with four-word putdown after Champions League loss to Barcelona

Bayern Munich director of sport Max Eberl did not respond kindly to criticism of his team following Wednesday’s thrashing at the hands of Barcelona.

The German giants lost 4-1 in Catalonia, where Raphinha scored a hat-trick.

Former Bayern star Robert Lewandowski got Barca’s other goal, while Harry Kane was the only scorer for the away side.

Bayern are top of the Bundesliga after seven rounds of fixtures but Wednesday’s defeat in Europe left them with just three points from a possible nine in the Champions League.

Eberl was asked about Bayern’s defensive fragilities in a post-game interview. His response was to tell the journalist: ‘Get your coaching license… then you can do it better!’

He added: ‘It’s so cheap to blame the defence when we concede goals. And if someone scores, it’s only Harry Kane.

‘There’s an attempt to divide us. We won’t allow that.’

Eberl described Wednesday’s defeat as a ‘learning experience’ before concluding: ‘We defend what we do and the individual players.’

Bayern – who lost 1-0 to Aston Villa at the start of October – are now 23rd in the Champions League’s 36-team league phase.

However, Vincent Kompany’s side still have a healthy goal difference of +3, having demolished Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 in their first European game this season.
