Bayern Munich chief responds to links with Chelsea star

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has clarified that the club are not working on any new signings during the winter transfer window.

The German giants have had a good season in the Bundesliga, but there has been speculation that they could bolster their attack further.

Talks were apparently held with the representatives of Christopher Nkunku, but a deal appears unlikely to happen at the current point.

Chelsea are open to a potential swap with Bayern involving Mathys Tel, but the Munich giants have no interest in negotiating such a deal.

Meanwhile, Bayern are also reluctant to meet the €70 million price tag for Nkunku. They are prepared to wait until the summer to re-negotiate.

When pressed on the speculation, Eberl said that Bayern have no interest in doing anything before the transfer window closes on February 3.

He said: “We’re extremely happy with our squad. The squad is very, very well positioned in terms of quality and quantity.

“We have no interest in doing anything.”
