Bayern players allegedly stormed PSG’s dressing room

Former Bayern right-back Rafinha, speaking on SportV and later cited by Bavarian Football Works, disclosed that after Bayern’s 2–0 defeat to PSG in the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final, a group of “angry” Bayern players stormed into the Paris dressing room.

It truly was a night to forget for all Bayern players and fans: a disappointing exit from the FIFA Club World Cup, a disappointing end to Müller’s Bayern career and as if that wasn’t already bad enough, they lost their starboy and new #10 Jamal Musiala for the next five months.

Former Bayern right-back Rafinha, who spoke on the Brazilian sports network “SportV”, gave some insights into the emotional reaction from many Bayern players on the night itself:

“Bayern players are not bad losers – I know them very well. Whey were angry, because they wanted Donnarumma to at least apologize [to Musiala], since they saw that the injury was serious. After the game, there were heated conversations in the dressing room.”

“The players went to him [Donnarumma] in the PSG dressing room to ask him to apologize and they exchanged some strong words. They demanded that, like a code of ‘ethics’, he should apologize, even though he didn’t do it on purpose.”

Jamal Musiala suffered a broken fibula, dislocated ankle and damaged ligaments after the collision with PSG’s goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma shortly before halftime.

Rafinha’s account supports the notion that Bayern players aren’t passive in defeat – they are both protective of their teammates and quick to enforce a sense of respect.
