Since the transfer window opened, Bayern Munich have been trying to sign a right-back, but to no avail so far.

The Bavarians have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain’s Nordi Mukiele and Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier, but although both players are said to be keen on a move to Munich, it looks increasingly unlikely that either will arrive.

According to Sky Germany, Bayern are close to pulling out of negotiations with Newcastle for Trippier after the Magpies rejected an offer of around €15 million from the Germans on Tuesday.

After continuing talks with Newcastle this morning, Bayern have decided not to make a new bid for the 33-year-old right-back as they are not willing to increase their offer, the German media outlet claims.

The situation with Mukiele appears to be similar, with Paris Saint-Germain demanding more than Bayern are willing to offer.

In light of this, the Bavarians are leaning more and more towards not signing a right-back this month, according to Sky.

Instead of being pressured to pay an excessive price this month, they could save the money for the summer, especially with Kim Min-Jae and Noussair Mazraouai returning from international duty soon.
