The latest update suggests Bayern tried to lure Gittens away from Chelsea’s grasp.

Although Chelsea and Dortmund appear to have struck a deal on Jamie Gittens, his signature wasn’t exactly plain sailing.

According to renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich did their level best to hijack the London club’s bid.

The report states the Bavarians offered ‘important’ money to Gittens in the last few days as they tried to change his mind.

With Bayern in the market for a winger – of which there are few available  – they tried their lucky with the BVB man one last time.

However, Romano states Die Rekordmeister never really stood a chance with the 20-year-old dreaming of a return to England.
