Bayern Munich are reportedly open to negotiating the fee Tottenham would need to pay to make Mathys Tel’s loan move permanent.

When Tottenham Hotspur signed Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich during the winter transfer window, a purchase option set at around €60 million was included in the deal.

While Spurs are interested in keeping the French forward on a permanent basis, multiple reports suggest they are unwilling to trigger the clause at its current value. Instead, the Premier League side are looking to negotiate a lower fee.

According to Bild’s head of football, Christian Falk, Bayern are open to talks and could reduce their asking price to around €35 million.

Falk also notes that Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, who maintains a strong relationship with Spurs, will lead the negotiations from the German side.

Spurs are also being linked with a move for Leroy Sané, whose contract with Bayern expires this summer.

Tel has scored three goals and provided one assist for Tottenham in 20 matches for the club.
