Bayern won’t sign Jackson permanently

Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeness has said that the club won’t be signing Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson on a permanent basis after his season-long loan deal.

The Senegal international joined the Bavarian giants on loan on deadline day after a lengthy saga. Bayern signed him for a €16.5m loan fee with a conditional obligation to buy for €60m.

Chelsea were praised for securing an excellent deal at that time, but Hoeness has clarified that Jackson and his agent contributed €3m for the striker’s loan move to the German giants.

He added that Jackson needs to make 40 starts for Bayern to trigger the buy obligation. Hence, the club are unlikely to secure a permanent deal.

He told Sport1 Dopa: “The player and his agent contribute for €3m, so we pay €13.5m loan fee.

“There will definitely not be a permanent contract. That only happens if he plays 40 games from the start, it will never happen.”

Jackson could make his debut against Hamburg next weekend. He could feature off the bench as a replacement for Harry Kane.
