Because of Ramadan: Kovač rests Guirassy and Bensebaini for the “Klassiker”

BVB coach Niko Kovač explained pre-match why he chose to rest Ramy Bensebaini and Serhou Guirassy for the “Klassiker”.

When people looked at the starting lineups for the Bundesliga game between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, many wondered why Ramy Bensebaini and especially Serhou Guirassy were on the bench. BVB coach Niko Kovač had an explained why he chose to give them a rest:

“It’s lent for Serhou and Ramy. They’ve been fasting for two weeks and we’ve already played four games in this period.”

Instead of those two, Kovač has decided to start Schlotterbeck and Silva – let’s see if Bensebaini and Guirassy can have an impact from the bench against Bayern Munich.
