Fans have taken to social media to debate whether Ben White meant to cross the ball or not for Arsenal‘s fifth goal against Chelsea on Tuesday evening.
White scored in the 52nd minute of the Premier League fixture and the 70th minute, but it was his second goal that started the debate on X (formerly known as Twitter).
White broke into the box on the right-hand-side of the pitch and received a lovely ball over the top from Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard.
White looked as though he wanted to cross it first time but ended up roofing the ball into the far corner of the net.
Fans are 50/50 on whether the Arsenal defender meant to score or whether it was ‘luck’ – with some claiming the surprise on White’s face ‘said it all’.
