Sky Sport Italia confirms Milan-linked Andrea Berta ‘is destined’ to be appointed as the new Arsenal sporting director.

The Rossoneri are in talks with several candidates as they aim to appoint a new sporting director for the 2025-26 campaign. Berta, Igli Tare and Fabio Paratici were mentioned as the leading candidates for the role, but according to Sky Sport Italia, the first one is expected to be appointed by Arsenal.

Reporter Peppe Di Stefano from Milanello said on live TV Thursday afternoon that Berta “is destined” to be appointed by the Gunners.

Arsenal saw their former sporting director Edu resign in November, just a few days before an away 1-0 loss against Inter in the Champions League.

The latest reports in Italy claim that Tare is a slight favourite over Paratici to get the Milan job, but the Rossoneri have yet to decide on their new sporting director.

Sky Sport Italia confirms that CEO Giorgio Furlani has flown to New York to meet club owner Gerry Cardinale and discuss the next steps in the club’s future.
