Werder Bremen’s Karim Coulibaly is supposedly already attracting attention since making his breakthrough in the first team this season.
According to BILD, an unnamed club is even willing to pay a transfer fee of €15 to €20million for the 18-year-old who is also crucially left-footed.
There’s reported interest from clubs in Italy, England, and Portugal; but Coulibaly himself is in no hurry to take the next step in his career just yet.
He supposedly wants to stay at least until 2027 and contract with Bremen runs until 2029, so there’s no threat of losing him on a free transfer.
Under former coach Ole Werner, youth talent was often neglected at the expense of Bundesliga survival and fielding experienced players.
However, the club’s appointment of Horst Steffen ensures more attention will be paid to youth and avoid circumstances like losing Nick Woltemade on a free to VfB Stuttgart in 2024.
