Bologna have sent a special message congratulating Crystal Palace on their FA Cup victory just days after securing their own Coppa Italia triumph.

It is that stage of the season where the silverware is being handed out and we’ve had two major Finals over the last few days.

Bond unites Bologna and Crystal Palace

Vincenzo Italiano’s side beat Milan 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico to secure their first Coppa Italia in 51 years, thanks to a goal from Dan Ndoye on Wednesday night.

This evening, Crystal Palace beat Manchester City with the same scoreline after a goal by Eberechi Eze at Wembley Stadium.

“Red and blue, Macron, cup winners. Where have we seen this before?” wrote the official Bologna social media team on X.

Whereas Bologna had won the Coppa Italia before in 1970 and 1974, as well as the Serie A title on seven occasions, most recently in 1964, this is the first ever major trophy in the history of Crystal Palace.

Both sides will now play in the Europa League next season thanks to these Cup wins.

Also, while Milan had already won the Supercoppa Italiana in January, this defeat means Manchester City end the season empty-handed.
