Bookies bashed! Sky Bet pay out over £8MILLION after more than 250,000 customers had Arsenal to thank for completing their Money Back as Cash Price Boost bet

Sky Bet was forced to pay out a whopping £8million-worth of bets after Arsenal completed a lucrative Cash Price Boost bet on Saturday evening. 

Mikel Arteta‘s side pulled off a rampant victory against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, ending the night as the 5-1 winners on the road. 

Goals from Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli and Declan Rice burnished a command performance in the capital which puts the Gunners just three points behind league leaders Liverpool. 

But while the punters – and Arsenal fans – may have been happy with the result, bookies were likely far from it as the side supplied the final piece of the puzzle for Saturday’s Sky Bet Money Back as Cash special Price Boosted accumulator. 

As well as an Arsenal fans, punters required Leeds and Newcastle to also take all three points – which they duly did. 

The Sky Bet odds had been enhanced from 2/1 to 3/1, resulting in over 250,000 customers taking up the offer.

Both Leeds and Newcastle kicked off at 3pm, with Daniel Farke’s player romping to a 4-0 win at Elland Road. 

Daniel James opened the scoring, before Jayden Bogle, Brenden Aaronson and Manor Solomon all netted in the second-half to hand Leeds their ninth straight league win. 

Victory also condemned opponents Oxford United to the relegation zone, one week after the club sacked head coach Des Buckingham. 

Meanwhile, Newcastle heaped more misery on struggling Ipswich in Suffolk via the same scoreline, with Eddie Howe’s side in fine form from kick-off as Alexander Isak scored after just one minute. 

The Sweden international later completed a hattrick in under an hour’s play, with Jacob Murphy also getting on the scoresheet.
