Borussia Dortmund have announced a major season-opening event on August 10, featuring both the men’s and women’s teams facing Juventus, alongside a special farewell ceremony honoring Mats Hummels following his retirement.
Borussia Dortmund face a busy summer schedule as they prepare to compete in the Club World Cup, which kicks off this weekend and concludes on July 13.
Following the tournament, the players will take a short break before heading to a training camp in Saalfelden, Austria, from August 4 to August 9.
The day after that, on August 10, the club will host a special event to officially kick off the 2025/26 season.
The day will feature a double friendly: before the men’s team host Juventus Turin at 17:30 CET in Signal Iduna Park, the BVB women will face the Juventus women at 13:00 at Stadion Rote Erde.
Between the two matches, both Borussia Dortmund squads will be officially presented, and Mats Hummels will be formally honored following his retirement from professional football.
“Celebrating our season opener for the first time with a double matchday, where both our men’s and women’s teams face Juventus Turin, is a special event. Hosting Juventus – a top club in Serie A as well as Serie A Femminile – adds extra prestige to the day,” said Borussia Dortmund CEO Carsten Cramer.
