BVB midfielder Julian Brandt reflected positively on his side’s 2–1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen, highlighting the team’s strength, focus, and camaraderie.

But before he could comment on the game, Brandt was asked about his teammate Nico Schlotterbeck’s future at the club:

“Every player wants the best players, like Nico [Schlotterbeck], to stay at the club,” Brandt said. He added that he and Schlotterbeck talk frequently and that he isn’t concerned about any off-field distractions affecting the defender.

Brandt admitted he could have done better in one of his own chances during the game, but remained pleased with the result: “I should have converted that big opportunity, but I’m still happy about the win and that we didn’t concede an equalizer at the end – that shows our strength,” he explained.

Looking ahead, Brandt emphasized the level of competition the team is currently facing. “At the moment, it feels like we’re playing against top teams every week. These are exciting matches, and we need to make sure we always deliver our best performance,” he said.
