FC Köln and Palermo have reportedly reached an agreement over a deal for left-back Kristoffer Lund.

According to Sky Germany, Köln have agreed to sign the 23-year-old on loan with an option to buy.

Lund began his career at FC Midtjylland before spells at Esbjerg and Swedish side BK Häcken, where his performances earned him a move to Palermo. He has spent the past two seasons with the Italian club.

Although he represented Denmark at youth level from U17 to U21, Lund switched international allegiance in 2023 and made his senior debut for the United States later that year.

If completed, Lund would become Effzeh’s eighth signing of the summer, as the club aims to build a squad capable of competing upon their return to the Bundesliga. However, head coach Lukas Kwasniok has been clear about his desire for further reinforcements – particularly in defence – before the transfer window closes.

Lund is expected to arrive in Germany on Tuesday to undergo a medical, with a formal announcement likely to follow soon after.
