Gleison Bremer admitted Juventus paid the price for a lack of sharpness after being held to a 1-1 draw by Lecce, despite dominating large spells of the match.

Speaking to DAZN after full-time, via TuttoJuve, the Brazilian defender expressed frustration at the way Juventus allowed control of the game to slip.

“These are the matches that worry me the most,” Bremer said. “Sometimes we relax and concede a goal out of nothing. When you’re dominating like that, you have to score straight away.”

Juventus created chances but struggled to convert their superiority into goals, something Bremer believes ultimately changed the momentum. “We took too long to equalise,” he explained. “We created a lot, that’s true, but in the end we didn’t score enough and this is what happens.”

Bremer also addressed what he described as a recurring issue when Juventus are on top. “When we dominate, we start thinking we can score at any moment,” he said. “But it doesn’t work like that. One counter-attack, one mistake, like the one we made, and they score. Suddenly the whole game changes.”

The defender also offered words of support for teammate Jonathan David, who endured a difficult moment during the match. Bremer was keen to underline the striker’s quality and character. “He’s a good guy and he works hard,” he said. “In training I always struggle to mark him because he has the movements of a strong player.”

Despite a missed penalty and an unlucky moment earlier in the game, Bremer remains confident in his teammate’s future. “He was playing well even before that,” he added. “He was unlucky, he hit the post and the ball fell to the goalkeeper. But he’s a good professional, and I’m sure things will go well for him going forward.”

Juventus will now look to respond quickly as they reflect on a draw that felt like a missed opportunity.
