Brentford boss Thomas Frank claims Liverpool are the ‘best team in the Premier League and WORLD’ after late win over Bees

Liverpool are the best team in the world and huge favourites to romp to the Premier League title, according to Brentford boss Thomas Frank.

The Dane’s Bees team put in a valiant fight against Arne Slot‘s side but were ultimately downed by two stoppage-time goals from Darwin Nunez.

And Frank said: ‘We just played Manchester City, Arsenal and now Liverpool in a short amount of time.

‘For me, they’re a level above the other two teams. They’re complete. It’s the best team in the Premier League and the world. They’re huge favourites to win it.’

Nunez’s goals were with Liverpool’s 36th and 37th shots in a frustrating afternoon — and goalkeeper Alisson said: ‘He took a long time to score one goal and for the second one, he didn’t take much time!

‘He is a class player, with so much quality. He’s important for the team and I hope today brings him confidence.’

Meanwhile, Slot heaped praise on the Uruguayan striker, telling the BBC: ‘He’s always having a lot of impact when he comes in. Brings energy and power. 

‘Most of our games are the last half hour in control around 18 yards, and that’s where he’s at his best. The first hour is often open but the last 30 minutes dominant. Then to have someone like Darwin is nice to have.

‘I don’t only look at results. We created a lot. But now it’s a win so I don’t have to say look at our performance. I was very pleased with our performance. 

‘Brentford made it a fight. They have good players and a good game plan. It was a nice game to watch like every time Liverpool are on the pitch.’
