Brighton allow Italy defender to have Paris FC medical

Diego Coppola is on the verge of joining Paris FC, as Brighton have allowed the Italian defender to undergo medical tests with the French club.

Former Verona centre-back Coppola will undergo medical tests with Paris FC in the coming hours before completing a permanent move from Brighton.

According to Gazzetta, the Premier League side have allowed Coppola to fly to France to undergo medical tests with his new club.

Coppola, 22, joined Brighton in an €11m deal from Hellas Verona last summer, but has been struggling with playing time in England in the first half of the campaign.

Coppola won’t return to Serie A

Coppola has only collected nine appearances across all competitions, playing 542 minutes, but providing two assists.

The Italian defender had been linked with a return to Serie A as well, with Fiorentina interested in a potential move.

Coppola made his senior Italy debut in June 2025, just a few weeks before joining Brighton and has two international appearances to his name.
