Brown anxiously waiting until last minute for AC Milan to match Fenerbahce bid of 8m

Milan are making a desperate last bid to catch Archie Brown before he flies out to Istanbul for Fenerbahce, believing they can match the €8m offer to KAA Gent.

There were many reports that the Rossoneri had left it too late to make a formal offer for the left-back, who they see as a suitable replacement for Theo Hernandez.

It had been suggested by Nieuwsblad in Belgium that Brown was already heading out to Istanbul this evening to undergo a medical with Fenerbahce.

Brown hoping Milan will step in

Now the same source, along with Fabrizio Romano, Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia, all note that Milan are making one last attempt to intercept, believing they can convince the player to prefer them to the Turkish Super Lig.

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com maintains the player is currently at the airport and waiting as long as he possibly can before getting on that flight, which has indeed been booked for him.

If Milan can match the fee of €8m that Fenerbahce agreed with KAA Gent, then the club will allow Brown to choose his destination.

In a straight decision between the two clubs, the Serie A giants would win out.
