Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes was seen giving an on-pitch team talk while they were 2-0 down against Bayern Munich.
United found themselves in a difficult position at half time in their Group A opener away at the Allianz Arena, and will have likely had to return to a heated dressing room.
Manager Erik ten Hag looked frustrated on the touchline as Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry both scored, the first of which saw a glaring error from Andre Onana.
But, emerging back onto the pitch for the second half, Fernandes seemingly took things into his own hands by conducting a huddle with his teammates.
And it seemed to have the desired effect, with United cutting the deficit thanks to Rasmus Hojlund’s first goal for the club.
However, a harsh handball decision saw Bayern quickly restore their two-goal lead as England captain Harry Kane converted a penalty.
A scrappy finish by Casemiro has given the Red Devils hope of claiming an unlikely point against the German champions late on but Mathys Tel’s emphatic finish in stoppage-time put Bayern 4-2 up.
It’s not the first time Fernandes has taken coaching duties upon himself, famously going viral during an FA Cup semi-final win over Brighton last season where he was seen taking centre stage.
