Bundesliga Team of the Week: Matchday 19

This time, our Bundesliga Team of the Week features players from Mainz, FC Bayern, Augsburg, RB Leipzig, Hoffenheim, Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, St. Pauli and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Goalkeeper

Robin Zentner, Mainz

Made four saves to help Mainz to a clean sheet and a hard-fought win over Stuttgart.

 

Defenders

Anthony Caci, Mainz

Secured Mainz’s 2-0 victory and won 11 of 13 ground duels.

 

Min-jae Kim, FC Bayern

A rock-solid performance from the South Korea international, who won five of his eight duels for the ball, completed 96 percent of his passes and scored Bayern’s winner.

 

Chrislain Matsima, Augsburg

Scored his first goal in an Augsburg shirt, won seven of his 12 contests for the ball and completed 88 percent of his passes.

 

David Raum, RB Leipzig

Worked his socks off and scored a free-kick as Leipzig came from behind to draw 2-2 with Bayer Leverkusen.

 

Midfielders

Nadiem Amiri, Mainz

Played a key role in Mainz’s win over Stuttgart, making four key passes from his central midfield position.

 

Adam Hlozek, Hoffenheim

Was involved in both goals (one goal, one assist) as Hoffenheim drew 2-2 with Eintracht Frankfurt. Also won nine of his 11 duels for the ball. 

 

Florian Wirtz, Bayer Leverkusen

Put in another stunning performance, setting up both of Leverkusen’s goals against RB Leipzig. Was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet himself and completed an impressive six dribbles.

 

Patrick Wimmer, Wolfsburg

Made a huge difference off the bench for Wolfsburg, scoring a goal, providing an assist and hitting the woodwork twice.

 

Morgan Guilavogui, St. Pauli

Stole the show as St. Pauli took three vital points against Union Berlin, scoring twice and setting up a third goal.

 

Strikers

Hugo Ekitike, Eintracht Frankfurt

Was a constant threat in Eintracht’s 2-2 draw with Hoffenheim, taking a total of six shots and scoring twice.
