The DFL have secured about €1.121 billion per season in domestic TV rights for the next four seasons, as “Kicker” has previously reported. That means a modest increase of around 2% compared to the previous contract.

2. The next biggest pillar is called “Sporting Performance” – 43% are distributed based on league positions over the last five years.
3. 4% of the total amount are being distributed based on “Youth Development” – Two-thirds based on U23 player minutes, one-third on youth academy investments.
4. The last pillar is called “Popularity and Interest” – meaning that the last 3% of the total amount are based on TV ratings, club membership, and fan engagement metrics.
