Burkardt passed fit to face Dortmund

Jonathan Burkardt has recovered from illness and is available for Mainz’s upcoming Bundesliga clash with Borussia Dortmund.

Mainz forward Jonathan Burkardt has been passed fit for Sunday’s Bundesliga clash with Borussia Dortmund.

The German international has struggled with illlness during the international break, but as Mainz coach Bo Henriksen revealed at a press conference on Friday, the striker is fully fit and available.

“He’s fine,” Henriksen stressed before adding:

“He was in training today and was at 100 percent. He’s fit and ready.”

Stefan Bell and Maxim Leitsch, meanwhile, remain sidelined. Mainz will also have to manage without Domik Kohr and Philipp Mwene, who are both suspended.

Mainz go into the game in third place, with eight Bundesliga games left to play this season.
