Former Italy youth international Sebastiano Esposito is currently undergoing a medical in Rome ahead of his transfer from Inter to Cagliari, and is expected to touch down at his new club later this evening.

As Football Italia reported over the weekend, Cagliari have been chasing a deal for Esposito for several weeks, and with no surprises nor doubts, the Isolani booked the player in for a medical on Monday.

Other outlets had suggested that Parma was also a potential option for Esposito this weekend, but Cagliari have always led the race and have had the final say in the matter.

How much will Inter receive for Esposito deal?

Directors Tommaso Giulini and Beppe Marotta have agreed on payment terms: Inter will receive an approximate fee of €4m, and will also retain a 40% sell-on clause for the 23-year-old.

The player is expected to arrive in Cagliari at around 20.30 BST in order to join up with his new teammates ahead of the start of the 2025-26 Serie A season.

This will be Esposito’s first permanent move away from Inter, having been sent out on loan on seven previous occasions with SPAL, Venezia, Basel, Anderlecht, Bari, Sampdoria and most recently Empoli.
