Hakan Calhanoglu’s agent meets with Galatasaray and Fenerbahce today, warning there were ‘a lot of phone calls’ and media leaks, but not enough direct communication with Inter.

As reported yesterday, Gordon Stipic-Wipfler flew in to Istanbul where the player was already staying during his summer vacation.

They will spend the next 24 hours in meetings with the two Turkish clubs who are interested in signing him, specifically Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, but if there is no genuine progress, then he’ll attend Inter pre-season training as scheduled on Wednesday.

Stipic-Wifler was sat next to a silent Calhanoglu when speaking to TRT Spor and expressed frustration at the way this process has played out largely in the media, but with no real offers.

“There have been probably a lot of phone calls, a lot of talks, a lot of press news, newspapers especially,” said the representative.

“It’s important understand this might happen, but it’s important also that this kind of process needs to have proper communication with the decision-makers.”

This reflects the irritation shown by Inter President Beppe Marotta, who reiterated in an interview yesterday that the so-called offers from the Turkish teams had been “imaginary” and never got beyond very early discussions.

It now seems that Calhanoglu himself is challenging them to put up or shut up, so if they are not serious about making a firm offer that Inter would consider, then he can get his focus back on the Nerazzurri.
