Castello Lukeba has left his RB Leipzig future open amid reports suggesting that an €80 million release clause in his contract could be activated this summer.
“My goal is to return to Europe with Leipzig. Watching the Champions League only on TV is extremely painful. Beyond that, I don’t think further,” Lukeba told Bild when asked whether Leipzig fans should worry about him potentially leaving.
“We have to stay focused. The season is long. Last year, we also started well and then ran into big problems.”
During the summer transfer window, a number of prominent Bundesliga players moved to the English Premier League. When asked if playing in England is also a dream of his, Lukeba replied:
“My dream is to become a world champion or eventually win the Champions League. I don’t dream of playing for a particular club. More than that, I dream of winning titles – because that’s what people remember most at the end of a career.”
The likes of FC Bayern, Liverpool, and Tottenham have previously been linked with the French centre-back.
