Castore catastrophe – Hertha’s new kit fails to meet DFL requirements

The kit provider has come under heavy criticism from various fans and clubs in recent years.

The DFL have informed Hertha Berlin and Castore that their new kit does not fit their requirements for the 2025-26 campaign.

German tabloid BILD suggests the reason is that the stripe pattern on the front is not reflected on the back.

This season’s kit is compromised of the typical blue and white vertical lines with an entirely plain navy patch on the back for the number.

It is believed that the striped pattern will now be printed above the players’ tailbones in order to obtain permission from the DFL.

Although the capital club have until Matchday 9 to add the stripes, the plan is to do this ahead of schedule, probably for the first home game.

If that is the case, Hertha will have their new strip updated for their opening 2.Bundesliga home fixture again Karlsruhe SC.
