Celtic are chasing a deal for Bodo/Glimt forward Kasper Hogh, according to the Glasgow Times.

Article continues under the video

Hogh recently made waves in the Champions League, scoring a brace in a 3-1 shock win over Man City.

The Bhoys currently sit third in the Scottish Premiership, and while their 41 goals scored is second-most in the league behind league leaders Hearts, Martin O’Neill’s group will want more production from its centre-forwards.

Celtic has failed to score in eight games this season in all competitions, meaning the club needs a consistent scorer to make the difference in those matches.

Central midfielder Benjamin Nygren is the club’s leading scorer with 11 league goals, while striker/winger Daizen Maeda is second with seven.

Adding Hogh, who scored 21 goals in 43 matches in 2024 and 20 goals in 38 games in 2025, would give the club a serious goal threat.

The 25-year-old also has 10 goals in 23 appearances between the Europa League and Champions League over the past two seasons.

Tomas Cvancara arrived on loan this month from Borussia Monchengladbach, but Celtic want to add more depth and competition for places as striker Kelechi Iheanacho — who has played just four league games this season — deals with a hamstring injury.

The club also recently sent a forward out on loan, clearing space for Hogh.

Shin Yamada heads to Germany

After going goalless in eight Premiership appearances, 25-year-old Shin Yamada has been loaned to Preussen Munster in Germany’s 2.Bundesliga.

Yamada’s best professional season was in 2024, when he netted 22 times in 57 appearances in all competitions.

That is his only season so far with double-digit goals.

The Scottish giants will hope he can find his scoring boots in Germany, and his new club will hope he can guide them away from the relegation zone.
