Celtic are in advanced talks to sign Freiburg forward Junior Adamu and Lorient winger Joel Mvuka before the end of Transfer Deadline Day.
Martin O’Neill’s side have already completed the loan signings of Julian Araujo from Bournemouth and Tomas Cvancara from Borussia Monchengladbach during the winter window, however they are now on the verge of two additional deals.
The Scottish giants are currently nine points behind league leaders Hearts with one game in hand, and they are desperate to add reinforcements before the winter transfer window slams shut on Monday evening.
Talks over a deal for Frosinone winger Fares Ghedjemis have stalled due to a disagreement over the payment structure of a deal worth €7.5 million, however Celtic are now closing in on a double deal for Adamu and Mvuka.
Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph has confirmed that O’Neill’s side are in “advanced talks” to sign both players, while a total verbal agreement has been reached with Adamu, as per Florian Plettenberg.
The 24-year-old, who has scored two goals in 18 games this season, is reportedly en route to Glasgow to undergo a medical with Celtic, and he is expected to be followed by Mvuka.
The Lorient star is reportedly keen to complete a move to Celtic Park before the end of Transfer Deadline Day on 2 February as he looks to break into the senior Norway squad ahead of the upcoming World Cup this summer.
Michael Noonan latest
Meanwhile, fellow Celtic target Michael Noonan has rejected the chance to join Bundesliga side Hoffenheim this window.
The 17-year-old Republic of Ireland striker has been heavily linked with a move to Christian Ilzer’s side, however his family have turned down the proposed transfer in favour of remaining at Shamrock Rovers, as per Sky Germany.
Noonan’s development is reportedly being tracked by Celtic, alongside a number of other top British clubs, however he is now unlikely to secure a transfer before the end of Deadline Day.
