Yann Sommer will start in goal for Inter in their Champions League opener against Ajax tonight, while Davide Frattesi is expected to replace Nicolò Barella.

It kicks off at 21:00 CET (20:00 BST) at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam.

Matteo Darmian is the only unavailable player for the Serie A giants, while Lautaro Martinez is not fully fit, having trained separately on the eve of the game due to back pain.

If the Argentine is not fit to start, Cristian Chivu will likely pick Francesco Pio Esposito alongside Marcus Thuram in attack.

According to Gazzetta, Frattesi will start in central midfield alongside Hakan Calhanoglu and Petar Sucic, while Sommer will be confirmed between the sticks despite a poor performance over the weekend.

Stefan de Vrij will replace Francesco Acerbi at the back, but there’s a doubt regarding the other two defenders, with Alessandro Bastoni and Manuel Akanji fighting for a starting spot with Yann Bisseck and Carlos Augusto.
