Will Dortmund have enough in front of their home fans tonight?
Inter Milan eye another Champions League run…
Inter Milan reached last year’s Champions League final and pushed Man City all the way in Istanbul.
Simone Inzaghi’s side will be hoping to go one step further this season and with the benefit of a 16 point lead in Serie A they can afford to focus their attentions on Europe.
Inter hold a 1-0 lead from the first leg against Atletico Madrid, with veteran Marko Arnautovic goal off the bench proving the difference at the San Siro.
Edwards hails ‘special bond’ between Luton and Bournemouth supporters
Several notable activities from Bournemouth and Luton Supporters’ Trusts around tonight’s fixture, with the match chosen to raise awareness around cardiac health.
The Cherries Trust and Talking Cherries have raised more than £2,000 for Luton’s supporter coaches to bring fans to attend the game.
At half-time both Supporters’ Trusts will make a presentation and donation to the British Heart Foundation. A one minute applause has also been planned in the 59th minute – the same time Lockyer collapsed in December’s fixture.
Luton boss Rob Edwards has said the two clubs have a ‘special bond’ following December’s events.
Locks is okay, he hasn’t been involved but he is coming to the game which is great. He has bigger things on his mind with his new arrival and that’s his main focus right now.
Going forward we would love to have him here on a regular basis but with the new arrival he is rightfully looking after his family.”
When it happened it was really raw, the two clubs will have a special bond, it shows a lot of class that their supporters trust is helping pay for our fans to get to the game so thank you to them,” continued Edwards.
It will be emotional going back but we have to do it, it’s important for Locks to see all the fans and the people who helped him, everyone was amazing on the day. Our full focus is on the game and we have a job to do on Wednesday night.
Bournemouth choose Lockyer as programme cover star
There can’t be many times an opposition player has been the cover star on the home team’s programme.
Tom Lockyer has been given that honour tonight by Bournemouth.
A lovely touch from the Cherries.
BOURNEMOUTH AND LUTON TEAM NEWS
While tonight will clearly be an emotional match it could also be a crucial one in Luton’s bid for survival.
The Hatters could move out of the bottom three on goal difference should they win tonight. Bouremouth can go level on points with Fulham in 12th with victory.
Alex Scott, Dango Ouattara and Luis Sinisterra come into the starting line-up for the hosts, with Marcus Tavernier, Justin Kluivert and Milos Kerkez making way.
Just the one change for Luton as Daiki Hashioka starts in place of Gabriel Osho.
Luton and Tom Lockyer make an emotional return to Bournemouth
Tonight’s Premier League match is the rearranged fixture between Bournemouth and Luton, which was abandoned in December following Tom Lockyer’s collapse.
The Luton Town captain suffered a cardiac arrest in the 59th minute of the fixture and later revealed he was technically dead for two minutes and 40 seconds before his heart was restarted by paramedics.
Lockyer has since been fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) device, which will shock his heart back into action should it ever stop again.
The Premier League ruled that the match would be replayed in full. The fixture was abandoned with the scores level at 1-1.
Lockyer is in attendance tonight and has already met up with the medical team who helped saved his life. He will also be presented to the crowd at half-time.
