When will the round of 16 games be played?

The two-legged ties that will be scheduled following Monday’s draw will begin on Feb. 13/14 and Feb. 20/21, 2024. The second leg of each tie will be played on March 5/6 and March 12/13.

Format and rules

As in the group stage draw, teams from the same country cannot be drawn against one another. In addition, teams that already met in the group stage cannot be paired in the round of 16.

Teams from pot one will face those selected from pot two. This means it is impossible for a team from pot one to be paired with a team from the same pot. The same goes for teams in pot two.

Teams from the same country cannot play their knockout matches on the same day due to television rights agreements. For example, on whichever day Bayern Munich play, RB Leipzig’s game will be played on another date.
