Championship strugglers Leicester announce major boardroom shake-up – with club’s owner stepping down as CEO and unpopular director Jon Rudkin PROMOTED

Troubled Championship club Leicester have announced a new structure that will see Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha leave his role as CEO.

Though Srivaddhanaprabha will remain as chairman, finance director Kevin Davies will step up to become CEO.

Davies’ careful work behind the scenes is thought to have spared Leicester a heavier penalty than the six points they received earlier this year for breaking financial rules.

Fans protested against the club’s leaders as Leicester were beaten 2-0 at home by Norwich – and many are likely to be angry when they learn controversial director Jon Rudkin has been promoted.

Rudkin is blamed for much of the poor recruitment and contract negotiations that left Leicester in a financial hole – but he has now been made chief football officer. New sporting director James McCarron will report to Rudkin.
