Chelsea and Man Utd in SIX-CLUB battle for Bellingham

Manchester United and Chelsea are just two of six Premier League clubs battling for the signature of Jobe Bellingham, according to a report.

The famous Sunderland youngster, brother of Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham, has been earning rave reviews since his emergence at Birmingham City.

Bellingham joined the Black Cats in 2023 and has gone from strength to strength. Intriguingly, his positional development has been the inverse of his brother’s.

Whereas Jude started out as more of a deep-lying midfielder before getting turned into a box-crashing offensive dynamo, Jobe primarily featured as an attacking midfielder – occasionally even playing as a forward – before being moved back this season.

His shift in roles has resulted in less offensive output. Bellingham scored seven times for Sunderland last term, while he has notched four goals and three assists so far this time around.

Bellingham a wanted man

The 19-year-old’s versatility, potential and illustrious name make him an in-demand commodity. Last year, Crystal Palace and Brentford were concretely interested in securing his services.

This summer, even more clubs will join the party. According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea, Man Utd and Tottenham have all been scouting Bellingham this season.

Man Utd are seriously considering making a move for the teenager, but they are just one of at least six Premier League sides who are keen on him. Brighton and Nottingham Forest are also mentioned as suitors, while Brentford’s admiration remains.

As for Sunderland, they feel in a secure position. Bellingham is tied to the club until 2028 and they are currently in a play-off spot, so there is a real chance that they will at long last return to the top flight.

Meanwhile, those close to the player feel that he will be playing Premier League football one way or another, so it seems that Bellingham would be open to a move should Sunderland fail to get promoted.
