Chelsea are confident of landing the signature of AC Milan goalkeeper on a Bosman deal at the end of the campaign.

The Blues were hot on the trail of the French during the summer transfer window, but they could not agree on a transfer package.

Chelsea were reluctant to meet the reported £25 million valuation for the player and ended up sticking with their existing choices.

Robert Sanchez had a goal start to the season, but recently made a high-profile error which cost the Blues against Manchester United.

Sanchez was sent off in the fifth minute for a reckless challenge and the Blues undoubtedly need an upgrade on the Spaniard next year.

Journalist Ekrem Konur claims that Chelsea have not ended their pursuit of Maignan and could return for his services at the turn of the year.

Maignan’s current deal with Milan expires in June 2026. The Blues are confident of signing him on a free transfer when the season ends.
