Rosenior becomes Chelsea’s next manager

Chelsea have confirmed the appointment of Liam Rosenior as their new head coach after the departure of Enzo Maresca.

The Blues parted ways with Maresca after a breakdown in relationship with the hierarchy and they have immediately found a successor.

Rosenior did a good job during his time in Ligue 1 with sister club Strasbourg, and has now been handed the managerial duties.

He has penned a long-term contract until the summer of 2032, but may not last long if the Blues don’t qualify for the Champions League.

Qualification for the elite European competition is said to be ‘critical’ for the west London giants despite Rosenior having just joined the club.

The Blues are presently three points behind Liverpool for the fourth spot in the table, and have the chance to secure the spot temporarily with a win at Fulham tomorrow.

Liverpool face a tricky challenge against Arsenal on the road on Thursday, and the Blues will be hoping that the Reds won’t get anything from that game.
