Chelsea might have claimed an easy 4-0 win over Southampton in the Premier League on Tuesday, but the poor recent form of the Stamford Bridge club sparked protests against owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital prior to the match.
Enzo Maresca’s side seemed geared for an unlikely push for the Premier League title earlier this season but have fallen away badly in recent weeks, sparking concern from fans that the team will once again miss out on Champions League football.

While a comfortable victory over the struggling Saints has gone some way to easing those fears, Boehly and Clearlake have been told in no uncertain terms that the Chelsea fans want better.
Many were pictured outside Stamford Bridge prior to the clash wielding banners against the ownership, with supporters chanting ‘We want our Chelsea back’ and also the name of Roman Abramovich, who previously invested millions in the club.
The message from the supporters was clear: the current player trading model is one that they are not happy with. While Chelsea have a plan to be successful several years down the track, the supporters want an immediate improvement, with a team capable of challenging for titles.
One fan held up a board reading: “We’re not Arsenal, win or f*** off!”
Another group of fans had a banner that read: “BlueCo stop killing Chelsea. Get out of our club.”

Vivid Seats scandal
The reputation of Chelsea’s ownership has not been done any favours by a recent scandal involving owner Todd Boehly, whose role as a director at Vivid Seats has led fans to brand him ‘dishonest’.
One fan told The Telegraph: “The fact that our owner could be benefiting personally at the expense of loyal supporters is hypocritical at best and downright dishonest at worst.
“Touting is a huge issue at Chelsea at the moment and it’s getting worse. There are fewer and fewer tickets available for supporters on a general admission, match-by-match basis.”
BlueCo’s ownership of Chelsea is not the only headache they are having to deal with in their group of football clubs, with Strasbourg fans regularly protesting against the manner in which their team is being treated.
