Chelsea fans turned on their team on Sunday as the Blues suffered another harrowing defeat, this time at the hands of Wolves.

The season hit a new low for Mauricio Pochettino‘s side, who dropped into the bottom half of the Premier League with defeat, which saw Matheus Cunha score a hat-trick.

The team were loudly booed off at full time, with fans visibly angry in the stands as pressure continued to grow on Pochettino, who was only appointed at the start of the season.

But fans’ anger was clear during the game too, with supporters making their feelings known during play, with Raheem Sterling jeered off by sections of the home supporters when he was replaced by Mykhailo Mudryk after 72 minutes.

Songs could also be heard from the stands mocking the team, with a turnaround looking some way away despite a cup final being on the horizon.

Chelsea have spent over £1billion in four transfer windows since Todd Boehly took over the club, but have little to show for their investment so far.

They finished 12th last season and are struggling again this campaign, and on their third permanent manager of the American’s reign already.

Blues fans could be heard chanting for former owner Roman Abramovich during the defeat to Wolves, who delivered two league titles and two Champions League titles among other major honours and had to sell the club when Russia invaded Ukraine.

They could also be heard chanting ‘we’re f***ing s***’ during the match as calls came to again swap manager.

Just before full time Thiago Silva’s wife, Belle, posted on X: ‘It’s time to change, if you wait any longer it will be too late.’

The post has already received over 17,000 likes and nearly 1,500 replies.

It was also reported that Moises Caicedo, who cost Chelsea £115million from Brighton in the summer, smashed his seat in frustration when he was substituted.

The Blues take on Aston Villa next in an FA Cup replay before visits to Crystal Palace and Manchester City in the league.

Pochettino, who before the game appeared to criticise Mudryk, explaining the reason for his benching as ‘about meritocracy’ – will hope to be given the chance to turn around his side’s fortunes.
