Nkunku on his way to AC Milan

Christopher Nkunku has flown to Italy today to undergo a medical with AC Milan, after the forward’s future appeared to be settled and a transfer to Serie A on the verge of completion. Chelsea have accepted a transfer bid of around 42 million euros for the France international, and the striker will now try his luck in a different country and new league.

Nkunku hopes to kickstart his career at AC Milan, after a disappointing spell at the West London outfit. Chelsea had hoped Nkunku would lead their line and become one of the club’s most prolific forwards, but spells on the bench and a lack of opportunity limited Nkunku’s chance of success at Stamford Bridge.

RB Leipzig had tabled an offer of around 50 million euros last week, but it is understood Chelsea accepted and the player rejected a return to his former club, instead preferring a brand new challenge.

Enter AC Milan, and the Rossoneri will provide Nkunku with a platform to succeed at the San Siro, and a five-year contract believed to be worth around 150,000 euros per week.
