Carney Chukwuemeka has revealed Cole Palmer‘s mystical pre-match prediction after the pair guided Chelsea to a FA Cup win over Leicester.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s side booked a place in the semi-finals with a dramatic 4-2 victory against the Championship side at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues raced into a comfortable 2-0 lead in the first half through goals by Marc Cucurella and Palmer.

But an own-goal by Axel Disasi and a superb strike by Mavididi levelled the tie before Chukwuemeka came off the bench.

In injury-time, Chukwuemeka laid the ball to Palmer, who returned the favour with an outstanding backheel before slotting the ball home to put Chelsea ahead.

The former Aston Villa man has revealed Palmer vowed to assist him before the match.

Speaking to the BBC, Chukwuemeka said: ‘Cole [Palmer] said to me before the game, if I come on, he will assist me and fair play.

‘His IQ is amazing, I knew as soon as I played it, he would find me. Fair play to him.’

Chelsea went on to add one more through Noni Madueke’s curling strike to book another Wembley date for the west London side.

The goal and against Leicester took Palmer’s tally for the season to 16, with 11 assists in that time.

His bright form was rewarded earlier this week when he was called up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.
